Next Meetup: Enterprise Service Bus (14th of May)!

Hi all,
Our next meeting will magically happen on Thursday, 14th of May (as usual, starting at around 7pm) at The Duke, off Grafton Street.
What’s the main topic this time? We’ll explore together Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), which is a highly distributed approach to integrate various web services, applications and other technologies within an organization (and its business partners).
Everyone is more than welcome to join the discussion, of course. Please add a comment if you are going to show up.

Important: Change of Date for April Meetup (16th of april)

Moving the meet up to next thursday the 16th.

As suggested by some of you and because this Friday ts Good Friday; and since we actually want to talk as well as drink when we meet, the meet-up for Alt net will be on the 16th of April from 7pm in The Duke (Off Grafton street)

The topic remains Domain Driven Design.

Apologies for the inconvenience. But I m sure you ll agree it might work out better this way.

If you are comming please add your name as a comment here. If you already added your name on the previous post you dont really have to(maybe lets us know if you cant come)

Cheers

Updated: Let’s discuss Domain-Driven Design (16th of April)!

Hi all,
Our next meeting is scheduled on the 9th of April (starting at around 7pm) at The Duke, off Grafton Street. Quite frankly, the venue was too busy on our last meet up (we had a problem with our reservations), but we will give it another try. (Any suggestion for a quieter place for future events is more than welcome).
This time we will be tackling Domain-Driven Design, which is an excellent OO approach to application development popularized by Eric Evans. If you care about software architecture, you really don’t want to miss this event!
Once again, if you are considering coming over, please add a comment so we can get an idea of how many people are going to participate.

Edit:  We have to move the date of the venue because its just going to be crazy in that pub on Thursday. New Date 16th of April at 7pm in The Duke

Hi All:

It was really nice to meet you all last thursday, fantastic turn out I hope we can keep it up.

Maybe Martha would be kind enough to send us the snaps she took.

Regarding the Next meet up, can we say the 5th of March in the same place.

The proposed topics are Testing (or was it TDD?) and Mocking frameworks.

Please comment on proposed date and topics. Cheers

Meet up – 12th of February 7pm

Hi All:

We are officially meeting, for the very first time, on the 12th of February (starting at around 7pm) at The Duke (9 Duke Street – off Grafton Street. See map below).

Topic:

ALT.NET is a self-organizing community of (mainly) .NET developers with a desire to improve themselves and their code [more here].  Since this is the first time we will gather together, we will keep the agenda fairly open, so that we can get to know each other and let topics emerge from the conversation. In the future, however, we may try to get one or more volunteers (maybe you? :D   ) to introduce and facilitate the discussion around a particular subject of interest (our next meeting will be ideally around the middle of march, so think about it!).

If you are considering coming over, please add a comment so we can get an idea of how many people are going to participate :) also if you are interested in a particular topic it would be good to share it.

Cheers

First (meta) meeting: 17 January 2009

Happy New Year to all of you!

This quick note is just to let you know that (at least) a couple of us will be joining the open coffee event this coming Saturday (17 January 2009 from 10:30am at the New York Grind in the IFSC).

We’ll share and compare our initial thoughts and draft a little plan of action for this nascent ALT.NET group… History in the making, in other words. See you there!
